入境事務主任
在職公務員現可申請轉任入境事務處入境事務主任。
薪級表
2 . 入境事務主任的薪級表為一般紀律人員( 主任級)薪級表第5 點
註1 (每月2 4 , 1 8 5 元)至一般紀律人員( 主任級)薪級表第2 1 點註2 ( 每月4 9 , 8 5 0
元)。獲取錄人員的薪酬及增薪日期將依照《公務員事務規例》第1 3 0 及
1 3 3 條的規定訂定, 並會載列於聘書上。
註1 入境事務主任的入職薪酬分別為一般紀律人員(主任級)薪級表第5 點 (每月24,185 元)、第6 點 (每月25,765
元)及第7 點 (每月27,305 元),視乎學歷而定。
註2 頂薪點的資料只供參考之用,該項資料日後或會作出更改。

入職條件
3 . 申請人必須符合以下條件:

( a ) ( i ) 持本港大學學位, 或同等學歷, 並在綜合招聘考試兩
張語文試卷(中文運用註3和英文運用註3 及4) 取得「一級」
或以上成績註5; 或

( i i ) 持本港大學學位, 或註冊專上學院註冊後所頒發的
文憑, 或香港任何一所理工大學/理工學院/專業教育
學院/ 科技學院的高級文憑, 或香港高等院校頒發並
獲認可的副學士學位, 或同等學歷, 及符合語文能力
要求, 即香港中學會考中國語文科及英國語文科成績
均達第二等級/ E 級或以上, 或同等學歷註6; 或
2 5 , 7 6 5 元
( i i i ) 香港高級程度會考兩科高級程度科目及格, 以及香
港中學會考另有三科註7成績達第三等級/ C 級或以
上, 或同等學歷, 及符合語文能力要求, 即香港中學
會考中國語文科及英國語文科成績均達第二等級/ E 級
或以上, 或同等學歷註6;
2 4 , 1 8 5 元
( b ) 通過體能測驗註8; 及
( c ) 能操流利廣東話和英語。
註3 香港高級程度會考英語運用科「C 級」或以上和「D 級」成績(或同等成績),分別會獲接納為等同綜合
招聘考試英文運用試卷的「二級」和「一級」成績。香港高級程度會考中國語文及文化、中國語言文學或
中國語文科「C 級」或以上和「D 級」的成績,則分別會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試中文運用試卷的「二
級」和「一級」成績。
註4 在International English Language Testing System (IELTS)學術模式整體分級取得6.5 或以上,並在同一次考試中
各項個別分級取得不低於6 的成績的人士,在IELTS 考試成績的兩年有效期內,會視為已符合入境事務主
任職位的英文語文能力要求(即入職條件(a)(i)項)。IELTS 考試成績必須在職位開始接受申請的首天(即2011
年2 月25 日)仍然有效。
註5 持有學位的申請人如在獲發聘書時持有綜合招聘考試英文運用及中文運用兩張試卷所需的成績或同等成
績,便符合資格獲取學位持有人的起薪點。
註6 政府在聘任公務員時,過往香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科(課程乙) C 級和E 級的成績,在行政上
會分別視為等同2007 年或之後香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科第三等級和第二等級的成績。
註7 有關科目可包括中國語文科及英國語文科。
註8 申請人須通過入境事務處在香港舉行的筆試(卷一),才有機會參加體能測驗。考試詳情一經確定,便會於
入境事務處網站內公布。申請人通常會在筆試日期前至少一星期接獲通知。

永久性居民身分
4. 獲取錄的人員必須是香港特別行政區永久性居民。在1 9 9 7 年7
月1 日之前初次按公務員聘用條款受聘而其服務並無中斷的在職公務員則
屬例外。
職責
5 . 入境事務主任主要執行與入境、人事登記、生死及婚姻登記等香
港法例有關的職務, 包括一般行政及督導工作。
( 註: 須受紀律約束、接受全日制入職訓練、穿著制服、輪班當值, 並或須在香港
特別行政區以外的地方工作。)

6 . 申請人如獲錄用, 將按個別情況以試任條款或試用條款受聘。

《基本法》知識評核
7 . 為提高大眾對《基本法》的認知和在社區推廣學習《基本法》的
風氣, 所有公務員職位的招聘, 均會包括《基本法》知識的評核。申請人
如獲邀參加筆試(卷二), 會被安排於筆試當日接受基本法知識筆試。申請
人在基本法知識測試的表現, 會用作評核其整體表現的其中一個考慮因
素。

8 . 申請人註9 須以通用表格第340 號(1 /2011 修訂版)提出申請, 申請書須
在2 011 年3 月9 日或之前, 寄交或送達屯門青山灣青山公路82 號入境事務學
院地下高層入境事務處招聘小組。申請人亦可透過公務員事務局網站
(ht tp :// www. c s b. go v. h k)遞交申請書。為確保能在限期前遞交網上申請, 申請人
應盡早完成網上申請手續, 以免臨近截止日期時, 因網上系統需要處理大量申
請而阻延申請人遞交申請表格。逾期/不完整或透過傳真/電郵遞交的申請書將
不獲處理。持有本港以外學府 / 非香港考試及評核局頒授的學歷人士亦可申
請, 惟其學歷必須經過評審以確定是否與職位所要求的本地學歷水平相若。申
請人須於稍後按要求遞交全部修業成績的證明文件及證書。查詢請致電

VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. IMMD 2011/01
Immigration Officer

offices of their bureaux/departments until after the closing
date for applications.)
Applications are invited from serving civil servants for appointment as
Immigration Officer in the Immigration Department.
Pay Scale
2. The pay scale of Immigration Officer is from General Disciplined Services
(Officer) Pay Scale Point 5Note 1($24,185) to General Disciplined Services (Officer) Pay
Scale Point 21Note 2($49,850) per month. The pay and incremental date for a successful
candidate will be determined in accordance with the provisions of Civil Service Regulations
130 and 133 and set out in the letter of appointment.
Note 1 The entry pay for the post of Immigration Officer is the General Disciplined Services (Officer) Pay Scale Point
5 ($24,185), 6 ($25,765) and 7 ($27,305) per month respectively, as commensurate with respective entry
qualifications.
Note 2 The information on the maximum pay point is for reference only and it may be subject to changes.

Entry Requirements
3. Applicants should:

Note 3 ‘Grade C’ or above and ‘Grade D’ in Use of English of the HKALE, or equivalent, are accepted as equivalent to
‘Level 2’ and ‘Level 1’ results respectively in the Use of English paper of the CRE. ‘Grade C’ or above and
‘Grade D’ in Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the HKALE are accepted
as equivalent to ‘Level 2’ and ‘Level 1’ results respectively in the Use of Chinese paper of the CRE.
Note 4 Applicants with an overall band of 6.5 or above with no subtest score below band 6 obtained in the same sitting in
the Academic Module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) within the two-year validity
period of the test are considered as having met the English language proficiency requirement (item 3(a)(i) of entry
requirements) of the Immigration Officer post. The IELTS test result must be valid on the starting day of the
application period, i.e. 25 February 2011.
Note 5 Degree-holding applicants will be eligible for the degree pay point if they possess the requisite results in the
Use of English and Use of Chinese papers in the CRE or equivalent at the time the offer of appointment is
made.
Note 6 For civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade C’ and ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language
(Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ and ‘Level 2’
respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
Note 7 The subjects may include Chinese Language and English Language.
Note 8 Applicants are required to pass the written examination (Paper I) held by the Immigration Department in Hong
Kong before they will be further considered for physical fitness test. Detailed arrangement of the examination will
be announced in the Immigration Department website once it has been fixed. Applicants will normally receive
letters of invitation at least one week before the date of examination.
(a) (i) have a degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, with
‘Level 1’ or above results in the two language papers (Use of
ChineseNote 3 and Use of EnglishNotes 3 & 4) in the Common
Recruitment Examination (CRE)Note 5; or
$27,305 p.m.
(ii) have a degree from a Hong Kong university, or a diploma from a
registered post-secondary college issued after the date of its
registration, or a higher diploma from a Hong Kong polytechnic
university/ polytechnic/ Hong Kong Institute of Vocational
Education/ technical college, or an accredited associate degree
from a Hong Kong tertiary institution, or equivalent, and have
met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2/Grade E
or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the
Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or
equivalentNote 6; or
$25,765 p.m.
(iii) have a pass in two subjects at advanced level in the Hong Kong
Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) and Level 3/Grade C or
above in three other subjects Note 7 in the HKCEE, or equivalent,
and have met the language proficiency requirements of
Level2/Grade E or above in Chinese Language and English
Language in the HKCEE, or equivalentNote 6;
$24,185 p.m.
(b) be able to pass a physical fitness test Note 8; and
(c) be able to speak fluent Cantonese and English.

Permanent Residency Requirement
4. Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless they were first appointed on civil
service terms of appointment before 1 July 1997 and have continued in service without a
break.
Duties
5. An Immigration Officer is mainly deployed on general executive and
supervisory duties in connection with the enforcement of the immigration, registration of
persons, births, deaths and marriage laws of Hong Kong.
(Note : Subject to discipline, required to undergo a full-time induction training, wear uniform,
work shifts and may be required to work in an area outside the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region.)
Terms of Appointment
6. Successful candidates will be offered appointment either on trial or on
probationary terms as appropriate.
(Note : The entry pay, terms of appointment and conditions of service to be offered are
subject to the provisions prevailing at the time the offer of appointment is made.)
Basic Law Assessment
7. For the purpose of heightening public awareness of the Basic Law (BL) and
promoting a culture of learning of BL in the community, assessment of BL knowledge will
be included in the recruitment for all civil service jobs. Applicants who are invited to attend
the written examination (Paper II) will be assessed on their BL knowledge through a written
test on the same day. The BL test result will be one of the considerations to assess the
suitability of an applicant.

Recruitment Unit, Immigration Department, UG/F, Immigration Service Institute of
Training and Development, 82 Castle Peak Road, Castle Peak Bay, Tuen Mun on or
before 9 March 2011. On-line application can also be made through the Civil Service
Bureau website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). To ensure timely submission of on-line
applications, applicants are strongly advised to complete their on-line applications as early
as possible in order to avoid any last-minute rush of applications which may overload the
on-line system. Applications which are incomplete or late or submitted by fax or e-mail will
not be considered. Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from
Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also
